The history of our dairy
The Caseificio La Fattoria was founded in 1988 by the brothers Luciano, Cosimo and Antonio Paraggio, determined to follow a family tradition born in the 1930s, when their maternal grandfather, Don Sabatino Sciorio, established a dairy in Battipaglia for the production of buffalo mozzarella.
From the beginning, the Paraggio brothers’ ambition was to create a unique product, and the characteristics of the Buffalo Mozzarella from Caseificio La Fattoria are the result of a commitment that has lasted for thirty-five years, stubbornly perpetuating an almost century-old tradition; a research aimed at perfecting all aspects of this very particular cheese: the pearly, velvety, shiny surface, the musky scent typical of buffalo milk, the sweetish flavor that is perceived on the tip of the tongue, the crunchy and slightly elastic consistency, which prolongs chewing and allows the milky whey to escape, flooding the palate.

The Antica Mozzata di Battipaglia® made from buffalo milk, which identifies the place of origin in the city of Battipaglia. A brand linked to a legend (read it here) which tells how buffalo milk mozzarella, whose taste has often been associated with the sweetness of ambrosia nectar, descends directly from the gods of the Etruscan populations who inhabited the Sele plain.
La Zizzona di Battipaglia®, a product born following the success of the film Benvenuti al Sud. A brand created and registered by Caseificio La Fattoria, which identifies a new and fun product: a buffalo mozzarella with larger dimensions (up to 15 kilograms ), characterized by a “nipple” of spun paste.
The history of our City
The Paraggio family is the creator and promoter of the main cultural events of the City of Battipaglia: re-enactments, historical processions, the Battipalio (city Palio), spectacularisation of religious events, events in which the entire historic center of the city is animated, involving tens of thousands of people. For this reason the history of the Caseificio La Fattoria is inextricably linked to the history of the entire city of Battipaglia.
Thanks to this cultural commitment, Caseificio La Fattoria is highly appreciated in the theatrical and cinematographic environment and its products have reached the tables of major Italian artists.
